MARRC

Thanks Go to MARRC Cornerworkers and BSR Staff

From Jay C. Boswell, MARRC #2166, WERA #464:

I wanted to thank everyone, especially the incredible cornerworkers who came to my aid on Sunday August 4, Race #8.

Approaching turn 4, I was struck by a rider attempting to pass on my left side. His bike hit my left leg and side of my bike. Fortunately I was able to stay upright and proceed to a stop at turn 5. I planned on continuing the race until I realized my foot peg was bent and shift lever was not functioning. I soon also realized my lower left leg was not funtioning! Very quickly the MARRC corner workers were helping me off the bike and out of harms way.

The ambulance EMT's gave me a quick once over and suggested I get x rayed. With the aid of the MARRC Corner workers, EMT's, and WERA officials I was able to get back on the bike and ride back to the pit. Later that evening x-rays revealed a broken fibula. It should be healed in 4-6 weeks.

I want to thank the MARRC corner workers (the best in the world!!!), staff members, WERA officials and ambulance crew who all came to my assistance in a matter of moments!

If anyone has pictures or video of this incident, I would love to have copies for my scrapbook and would gladly pay for any copying or shipping costs.

Thank you again,
Jay C. Boswell, MARRC #2166, WERA #464
