Racer Robert Taylor Sends His Regards
September 8th, I crashed in turn two at Summit Point in my last race. I was having a great race weekend and had been really improving over the season (this was my first race season). It was unfortunate that I had the accident but I learned first hand what a great bunch of people there are in the MARRC organization and at Summit Point.
I suffered a compressed vertebra as a result of colliding with a tire wall along the tree line on the outside of the track (an excruciatingly painful injury and I'm about 1/2 inch shorter now) . The bike suffered some cracked plastic and a bent fairing stay. The bike and myself are expected to recover fully. I was able to return to work on a limited bases after two weeks.
From the corner worker who first came to me after the accident to the people in my pit area that packed all my stuff and drove it home, every one has been fantastic. The plant I received today from 1-800-flowers was a wonderful surprise and really brightened my day since I had come home early due to the pain.
Thanks again to everyone. See you next season if not sooner.
